Thomas George “Tom” Walz, age 55, of Middletown, DE passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on January 16, 1966, he was a son of Margaret Clifford (Casey) Walz and the late Dr. Donald Thomas Walz. Tom made his career in the automotive repair profession, working at several body shops throughout northern DE and two in PA, where he was considered a perfectionist in his profession. He had a passion for fast cars and motorcycles and enjoyed watching and working on them. Tom loved the beach where he discovered his passion for jet skiing.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Melissa Walz; children, Kayla Walz, Shaelynn Walz, and Leland Walz; stepson, Tyler Jones; siblings, Donald Walz (Kay) and Gretchen Walz; and several aunts, uncles, nephews, and a niece.

All services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tom’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 399 Market Street, Ste. 102, Philadelphia, PA, 19106.

  • Tom was a good friend and neighbor. He was gifted with his knowledge of auto mechanics, and helped me many times. We also played a few rounds of golf together. He will be missed.
