Thomas K. “Doc” Krautter, Jr., age 80, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 6, 2023.

Born in Wilmington, DE on July 7, 1942, he was the son of the late Thomas K. and Gladys (Thornton) Krautter, Sr. Tom worked as a bus driver for children with special needs at Colonial School District until his retirement.

A man of faith, Tom was a charter member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Newark. In his spare time, he could often be found searching yard sales for a good deal or listening to 50’s music, especially his favorite, Elvis Presley. Tom will always be remembered as a compassionate person who would help anyone, and for his outgoing personality.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Larry L Smith. He is survived by his loving wife, whom he adored, of 57 years, Constance “Connie” (Dasher) Krautter; children, Rebecca L. Harris (Ross), Joanna L. Repella (Ted), and Sharon A. Smith; grandchildren, Brandon Repella (Deanna), Constance Maloney (Brendan), Sarah Smith, Cassie Repella, and Kaitlin Facciolo (Ray); and 10 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to Till Shiloh Come, P.O. Box 213, Old New Castle Branch, New Castle, DE 19720.
