Tonya D. Baxter
June 13, 1972 - December 21, 2021
Tonya D. Baxter, age 49, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, on June 13, 1972, she was a daughter of Carol A. (Foster) Baxter and the late Ross E. Baxter. Tonya graduated from Northeast High School in 1990. In high school, she took cosmetology and even though she didn’t pursue it professionally, she was very good. She would normally only do hair or braids for family and close friends. Tonya worked as a medical records technician for the State of Delaware.
Tonya was very family oriented and loved to travel to places like Hawaii, Belize, and many of the states. She was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and the 76ers. Her love of the Eagles came from her mother. Tonya and her family would watch all of the games together. She loved eating crabs, and to sing and dance around the house. Tonya would sometimes just start singing in the middle of a conversation.
Tonya will be remembered as a mother who was devoted to her children and it was noticed by everyone who knew her. She was very proud of everything they did. Tonya went to every sport game or practice, dance, or award ceremony. This also stood for her only nephew and her grand-nephew. Many of her friends considered her to be their best friend. She would, for many of her friends, send them a sweet message every morning. Tonya was just a fun loving, beautiful woman with a beautiful spirit.
Tonya is survived by her son, Brian Crawford; daughter, Cydney Crawford; siblings, Carla Baxter and Bryan Baxter; nephew, Tyree Baxter; great-nephew Trenton Baxter; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
All services will be held privately.

My dear Sister Baxter. You have our deepest sympathies and condolences. Right now Tonya is in the safest place, the best place. That’s Jehovah’s memory (John 5:28). We look forward to the time when death “our last enemy last enemy, is to be brought to nothing” (I Cor 15:26)
Carol, I want to share something… something you’ve heard hundreds of times, read hundreds of times… It’s different now because it’s PERSONAL. Rev 21:4 says… “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away”
That’s Jehovah’s promise… it’s real… it’s up to us to keep it alive… Don’t forget it
With warm Christian Love

I had the pleasure of hiring Tonya and working with her for 30 years before I retired. I still can’t believe that she is with Jesus Christ with the angels in heaven. Brian and C.C. were everything to her. I am so sorry they’re loss.

I am so sadden to hear of the passing of my former coworker Tonya. Tonya and I worked together at DPC from 2007-2010 when I relocated. Tonya always had a smile and was the funniest. We would battle back and forth about the eagles and cowboys on social media. We also loved some of the same tv shows and would talk about them. I am praying for her children and father during this difficult time. May the peace of God give you understanding and joy in the midst of sorrow. With love,
Tee

My most deepest condolences to Tonya‘s family and friends. I am very sad to hear of her passing. We were friends from high school and it was wonderful to be able to keep up with her on Facebook as we loved seeing each other’s posts with our children growing up. She was a really good person and I’m sure she will be missed very much. My heart goes out to all who knew and loved her. Again, I am so sorry. 🙁

Iam heart broken over the loss of my dear friend, I think back from high school days when we put our $ together everyday to share a good lunch. As adults our long conversations on the phone. Tonya helped me through some rough times in my life with loving friendly no judgement advice. Even though we didn’t talk everyday when we did it was like no time passed. Tonya will forever be in my heart, not many people can say they have a best friend. Thirty one years I can say I have. Miss and love you my dear friend. My prayers are with the family as always.

With sincere condolences to
Ms. Carol Tonya and the kids. I am heart broken Tonya was my neighbor/friend. We didn’t hangout or visited each other’s homes. That didn’t matter because we often spoke to each other and had lengthy conversations in front of my house. Sadly, another friend of mine went to be with God the day after Thanksgiving, then Tonya a few weeks later. This is very difficult my prayer is that God will be a comfort to the family today and everyday. 🙏🏽❤️

My Dearest Carol and Family,
Please accept our deepest sympathy on the loss of your beloved Tonya. It will be only a short time till you welcome Tonya back.
Remember Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves. (Psalm 34:18) How comforting it is to know that Jehovah will call and those in his memory will answer! (Job 14:15) It will be as though they had returned from a journey—not ill or impaired, but in sound health.
We will continue to pray to Jehovah to supply you and your family the needed strength to endure this most difficult time.
Warm Christian Love,
Jones / McNeil Family
