Tracey Taylor-Blackwell, 59, of New Castle, DE, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on May 16, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Lansdowne, PA on January 15, 1964, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Hazel (Ruley) Taylor, Sr. Tracey was a graduate of Upper Darby High School in 1982 and continued her education at Delaware Community College, graduating in 1985. She dedicated her professional life to Delaware County Memorial Hospital, where she worked tirelessly from 1981 until her passing.

On June 23, 1993, Tracey embarked on a joyous marital journey with Antonio D. Blackwell. Side by side, they traversed the path of life, weaving a tapestry of cherished moments. Their love and dedication were graced with the gift of a daughter, Maya M. Blackwell.

Tracey could often be found in her kitchen; she took great joy in cooking for her loved ones. In her spare time, she enjoyed going shopping with her sisters or watching reality TV. When the summer months came, Tracey was always excited to venture down to the beach to soak up the sun. She leaves behind fond memories in the hearts of all who loved her.

In addition to her parents, Tracey was preceded in death by her sister, Robyn Taylor-Madison. She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Antonio Blackwell; her beloved daughter, Maya M. Blackwell; siblings, Debra Taylor, Norman Taylor Jr. (Kimberly), and Lynda Taylor; mother-in-law, Josie A. Blackwell of Lincolnton, GA; aunts, Margaret Reid of Atlanta, GA, Doris Ruley of Swarthmore, PA, Delores Ruley of Philadelphia, PA, and Rosie Blackwell of Tignall, GA; uncle, Danny Partlow of Lincolnton, GA; brothers-in-law, Chester Blackwell of McCormick, SC, and Claude Madison of Bear, DE; godson, Ryan Cason; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 10:30 am on Friday, May 26, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church, 809 S. Broom Street, Wilmington, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 am. Interment will be held privately.
