Velia A. “Billie” Rodriguez, age 74, of Newark, DE, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024.

Born in San Antonio, TX, on August 9, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Rafael and Sara (Robledo) Gonzalez, Jr. Billie attended Durham University, worked for many years as the property manager of Woodshade and Stoneybrook Townhomes before becoming a supervisor at MBNA, where she worked until retirement.

Billie enjoyed watching scary movies, but only during the daytime hours, and every version of the Scrooge at Christmas time. She was dedicated to her family. She cherished the quality time and countless memories made with all of her loved ones, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Billie was preceded in death by her siblings, Isabel Gonzalez, Rafael Gonzalez III and Tonee Gonzalez-Pecina. She is survived by her son, Martin E. Rodriguez (Suzanne); siblings, Ernestina Gonzalez-Arbizu, Albert Gonzalez, Pearl Gonzalez-Shaw and Paul Gonzalez; grandchildren, Morgan Henriquez (David), Izabella Rodriguez and Aaron Rodriguez; and great-grandchildren, Dominic and Mia.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.
