Veronica Diomede

Veronica Diomede, age 83, of Bear, DE, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 15, 2021.
Born in Mola di Bari, Italy, on January 17, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Nicola and Filomena (Berlen) Suglia. Veronica worked as a homemaker for many years, cherishing the ability to care for her family. She especially enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, and any time spent with them.
In addition to her parents, Veronica was preceded in death by her husband, Giovanni Diomede; siblings, Juan Suglia, Rosa Bufo, and Pietro Suglia; and brothers-in-law, Juan Arbuet and Francesco Bufo. She is survived by her sons, Frank Diomede (Angela) of Staten Island, NY, Nick Diomede (Pamela) of Middletown, and Gaetano Diomede (Tina) of Bear; siblings, Gaetano Suglia (Angela), Anna Ferreyra (Ramon), Margaret Renna (Domenico), Maria Arbuet, and Lorenzo Suglia (Nora); sister-in-law, Jacqueline Suglia; grandchildren, Giovanni N., Frank, Giovanni W. (Jessica), Dominic, Nicholas, Giovanni F., Leonardo, and Veronica; great-granddaughter, Gianna; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 pm until 5 pm on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a second visitation will be held from 7 pm until 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 am on Monday, November 22, 2021, at St. Joseph Parish, 371 East Main St, Middletown, DE. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the Governor of Delaware. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.
