Virginia N. “Ginger” Aiello, age 81, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

Born in Wilmington, DE, on August 11, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Rodney and Georgia (Shepherd) Johnson, Sr. Ginger made her career as an administrative assistant in the medical field.

Ginger loved to travel, and took great pride in being a homemaker for her family. While in high school, Ginger was a talented field hockey player.

In addition to her parents, Ginger was preceded in death by her brothers, Rodney Johnson, Melvyn Johnson, and Richard Johnson. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Donald F. Aiello; son, Rich Aiello (Susan); granddaughters, Katie, Taylor, Sydney, Carly; daughter, Dana Albrecht (Bart), granddaughters, Sarah, Michelle (Tom) and great-grandson, Penn; siblings, Debbie Rubin (Steve) and John Paris.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Summit United Methodist Church, 554 Old Summit Bridge Road, Middletown, DE 19709, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ginger’s memory to Summit United Methodist Church at the address above.
