Wanda Loretta Wilson

Wanda Loretta Wilson, age 87, of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Born in Tazewell, VA on August 21, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Eulas and Elizabeth (McReynolds) Crouse. Wanda had lived in the Newark area since 1972. She began her career at the University of Delaware as a housekeeper for the president, and later worked as a records technician for 28 years until her retirement.
Wanda loved the Lord and was a longtime member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church. She was a member of Howard Weston Senior Center and the Newark Senior Center, where she loved to spend her free time. Wanda enjoyed being a member of Changing Pathways at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home. She loved her family, her church family, and her many friends and cherished the time she had with all of them.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Boone B. Wilson, Jr.; children, James Starrett, Bonnie Starrett, E. Fred Starrett, and Theresa Chester; grandchildren, Jimmy Farlow, Jamie Williams, and Tia Starrett; and siblings, Mickey Crouse and Margaret Hitchcock. She is survived by her children, David Wilson (Cathy); stepdaughter, Debra Williams (Al); sister, Rae Collins (Leon); grandchildren, Al Jr. (Bethany), Ryan, Sara (Mark), Annabelle, Carmen, Jacob, Ronald, Dwayne, Bruce, Arthur, Christopher, Adam, and Josh; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 am until 11 am on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. A committal service will follow in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wanda’s memory to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 1842 Otts Chapel Road, Newark, DE 19702.
