Warner T. “Pete” Foraker, Sr.

Warner T. “Pete” Foraker, Sr., age 89, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

Born in New Castle, DE, on November 29, 1934, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Fannie Morgan (Vandegrift) Foraker. Pete proudly served in the United States Marines during the Korean War. He built his career as businessman and owner of Foraker Oil Inc. in Delaware City.

A beloved husband, father, pop-pop, family member, and friend, Pete was known for his unwavering love for family and his passion for life, creating memories that would last a life time with his fun spirit and infectious energy.

In addition to family, Pete had an enduring love for the water, particularly the river house they called the cottage and traveling to their second home in Bonita Springs Florida to enjoy sunny winter months.

Above all, Pete will be remembered for the love and joy he brought to everyone fortunate enough to know him. Family was everything, and it was in these moments filled with fun, laughter, and the warmth of togetherness that Pete truly thrived.

A friend to the community, Pete served as a member and past master of the Jackson Lodge No. 19 AF & AM, as well as a past director of Delaware Court No. 164 Royal Order of Jesters. He was also a member of the American Legion in Delaware City and a life member of the Marine Corps League of Naples, FL, E.T. Brisson Detachment #063. Pete also spent 15 years as a chairman of the Delaware Industrial Accident Board.

In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Lynn Foraker. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Barbara Gail (Camac) Foraker; son, Warner T. Foraker, Jr.; grandchildren, Warner T. Foraker III, Sarah Gail Logan, Abigail Salkind-Foraker, and Jacob Salkind-Foraker; and great-grandchildren, Avery Logan, Xander Logan, Jaxson Foraker, and Roman Foraker.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 11:45 am on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a Masonic service will begin at 11:45 am, followed by a funeral service at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
