Wayne E. Jones, Sr.

Mr. Wayne E. Jones, Sr., age 69, of New Castle, DE, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 15, 2013.
Born in Penns Grove, NJ, on March 7, 1944, Wayne was the son of the late Lawrence Earl Jones and Beulah May Crossan Jones. He and his family returned to Delaware, where he was raised and later graduated from Wilmington High School. He would go on to learn the body and fender trade and was a skilled mechanic.
Wayne loved the Lord with all his heart. He attended Iron Hill Community Church in New Castle and was an active member of the Good News Travelers chapter of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He loved riding his motorcycle, building model airplanes, working in his garage, and spending time with family and friends. He was also active with the DAP Pushmobile Derby for many years.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his daughter, Darline M. Kane, and brothers, Robert Jones and Joseph Jones. He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Joanna L. Comperatore Jones; his sons, Wayne E. Jones, Jr. (Cheryl) of Townsend, and David W. Jones (Michelle) of Newark; his daughters, Florence A. Smith of Delaware City, and Andrea Agnew of Bear; his sister, Linda Kisner (Terry) of New Castle; ten grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, June 21st, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
