Wayne Mark Yarnall, age 62, of Middletown and Dewey Beach, DE, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

Born in Wilmington, DE on October 28, 1958, he was a son of Christine (Kwiatkowski) Yarnall and the late William Malcom Yarnall. Wayne graduated from Delcastle High School. Following graduation, he started his lifelong career with Delmarva Power and Light (DPL) where he retired from after many years of dedicated service in 2011.

Wayne was a great supporter of the military, our veterans, and President Trump. He was a member of the VFW Post 838 and the Pulaski Legion. Wayne was very proud to be a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans Mechanized Calvary- 2nd Battalion Company and a member of the Delaware City Rec Club.

Wayne and his wife Lynn worked hard to purchase and spend quality time at their Dewey Beach Home where he enjoyed fishing (not catching) and spending time at his favorite restaurant, The Starboard. Wayne will always be remembered as a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, and a dear friend to many.

In addition to his father, Wayne was preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Diana “Lynn” (Smith) Yarnall and his daughter Kylie Yarnall. He is survived by his mother, Christine Yarnall; his daughters, Brooke Yarnall (Stephen Berkey), and Amanda Kerr (Kristopher); his 6 grandchildren, Payton, Avery, Harlee, Beau, Dilynn, and one due in October 2021; and his service dog, Odin.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 pm until 6 pm on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Chesapeake City VFW Post 7687, 304 Basil Ave, Chesapeake City, MD 21915. Interment will be held privately.

  • So sad to hear of Wayne’s passing he was one neck of a nice man.We had some good times fishing in Chincoteague with the Flounder Pounders .He will truly be missed .
