William Carl Cullen, Sr.
William Carl Cullen, Sr., lovingly known as Carl, of Wilmington, DE, and formerly of Fort Myers, FL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the age of 82, surrounded by his family.
Carl was a hardworking man who spent many years running his own construction company in Delaware. Later, he moved to Florida, where he continued his work before returning to Delaware just a year ago. Most recently, he enjoyed working at Acme, where he was known for his friendly smile and positive spirit.
Carl had a zest for life and found joy in simple pleasures. He loved fishing, cherished the companionship of his dogs, and was happiest when spending time with family. He always made the best of every situation and especially treasured family vacations with his daughters, creating lasting memories with those he loved most.
Carl is survived by his daughters, Dawn Gulati and her husband, Dr. Rajeev Gulati, and Tracy Campbell and her husband, Dennis Campbell; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ella Caynor and William Cullen; his son, William Carl Cullen, Jr.; and his last wife, Sue Cullen.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Old Drawyers Cemetery, 2839 DuPont Parkway, Middletown, DE 19709.
Following the service, everyone is welcome to gather at the home of Tracy Campbell, 1421 Norva Drive, Middletown, DE 19709.
Carl will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family.
