William D. “Bill” Fellenbaum III
July 11, 1972 - March 26, 2023
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of William D. “Bill” Fellenbaum III, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. Bill passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the age of 50.
Born on July 11, 1972, in a small town in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late William D. Fellenbaum, Jr. and Linda Jean (Killingsworth) Fregeau. Bill moved to Delaware at a very young age and developed a lifelong passion for fishing. He spent countless hours at ponds, lakes, and oceans casting his line and enjoying the serenity of nature. There was no time where Bill was happier than when he was fishing. He loved the serenity of the water and found peace in his hobby.
Another love in Bill’s life was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He never missed a game and was always proud to wear his black and gold. You would often find him cheering for them on Sundays during the football season. Bill’s proudest accomplishment was being a father to his daughter and a grandfather to his beloved grandson, even though he rarely got to spend time with them. He didn’t hesitate to show pictures of his Grandson with a huge smile on his face.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Kayla Marthers; grandson, Wyatt Marthers (both from NC); siblings, Michael Fellenbaum, Heather Kearney, James Layton; stepmother, Karen Comp; fiancée of many years, Lynne Ellis; and many nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held to honor Bill’s life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s memory to the Delaware Humane Association, as he was also a lifelong animal lover, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801 or online by clicking here.
Rest in peace, Bill. You will be forever missed and always remembered.
