William Dennis Kocher, age 58, of Clayton, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

Dennis was born in Wilmington, DE on November 15, 1965. Dennis was a graduate of Glasgow High School. He earned his license as a master plumber and made his career working widely in the plumbing industry as well as having his own company. Dennis also spent many years working at Artesian Water Co.

Dennis could often be found hunting or fishing. He loved attending car shows and was especially proud of his ’69 Camaro. During their younger years, Dennis enjoyed coaching his daughter’s softball teams. He had many lifelong friends that he loved spending time with.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Traci A. (Richmond) Kocher; daughters, Lexi (Peirce) and Hannah (Jason), both of Clayton; parents, Ron and Joan Kocher of Middletown; and his dogs, Winston and Bailey.

The Kocher family would like to extend a special thank you to the Christiana Care Cardiac ICU Unit 2E team for the loving and compassionate care they provided to Dennis.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 11 am on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Inurnment will be held privately.

  • Dennis will be greatly missed by all of us. He was a big part of our extended family in Delaware. He was Uncle to Billy and Sarah and brother to Bill. He was always there for us and we have so many great memories. He will be deeply missed.

  • Tracy, my heart is so deeply saddened to hear of the loss of your husband and best friend, Dennis. From the short time that I had met Dennis, he was a very laid-back, quiet, respectful man that I really enjoy talking to. Him and my husband would have gotten along so well my husband to had a 69 Camaro at one time and he fishes and hunts!!!   • To the whole family. I first met Dennis selling him an old GMC truck on PineTree rd, not knowing I would, years later hire him for Atresian Water co. He was our department plumber, always doing his best for everyone. Still have not found a quality replacement. Miss him stopping by the house to see what new cars I have this week. He’s left us all too soon and will always be missed.
