William E. “Bill” Wilson, III

November 6, 1982 - November 3, 2021

William E. “Bill” Wilson, III, age 38, of Middletown, DE, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 3, 2021.

Born in Wilmington, DE on November 6, 1982, he was a son of William E. and Jacqueline A. (Callahan) Wilson, Jr. Bill worked as a journeymen pipefitter for Local #74 in Newark for many years. He was an avid hunter and commercial crabber, with a love for dogs. Bill was very family oriented and adored his nephews. He always looked forward to spending quality time with both of them.  

Bill was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Rose Callahan; and paternal grandparents, William and Alice Wilson.  In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Mark Wilson (Ilene); nephews, Jacob Wilson and Conner Wilson; aunts, Colleen Vavala (Michael) and Louann Wilson; uncle, John Callahan (Ruth); and many cousins.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will be held at 11 am. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the Governor of Delaware. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill’s memory to Brandywine SPCA, 600 South Street, New Castle, DE 19720.

    I met Bill in 2003 when he was a first year apprentice.
    He was a great worker and always willing to learn.
    Later we worked together on other jobs. He was a great partner.
