William Joseph “Bill” Hearne

William Joseph “Bill” Hearne passed away, surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

Born in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late William and Ann Elizabeth Hearne. He attended high school at Salesianum Catholic School in Wilmington, DE, and went to work for the family business, Fieldsboro Auto, in Fieldsboro, DE.

Bill was an avid marksman, becoming proficient in multiple disciplines, and achieved master class in the United States Practical Shooting Association. He enjoyed being hands-on in his spare time, working on various cars since his childhood. He also spent time riding on his motorcycles with his family and friends. For Bill, before anything, came his wife and sons. He poured everything into his family, and it was evident within the community.

Bill is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sandy; sons, Jacob, William, and Daniel; along with his daughter-in-law, Alexandra.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Old Drawyers Cemetery, 2839 DuPont Highway, Middletown, DE.
