William Joseph “Billy Joe” Heverin

William Joseph “Billy Joe” Heverin, age 62, of Newark, DE, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
Born in Wilmington, DE, on November 23, 1962, he was a son of the late William and Katherine Gail (Touchton) Heverin, Jr. Billy Joe made his career as a master pipe fitter at Diamond Mechanical.
Billy Joe enjoyed spending his free time on the water boating and fishing. He loved to work with his hands, and was a jack of all trades who could fix anything. Billy Joe had a passion for animals. He was very proud of being a Golden Glove Boxing Champion in 1979. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Billy Joe was preceded in death by his daughter, Holly Joelle Heverin; and sister, Penny Lynn Heverin. He is survived by his siblings, Anna Christi Biddle and Andrew John Heverin; former wife, Kimberly Heverin; cousin, Karen Wilds; stepdaughters, Randee Ferrara and Danielle Kreske; grandsons, Santino Noel and Dominic Noel; and nieces and nephews, Gage Baber, Izabela Biddle, and Taylor Heverin.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 am until 11 am on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in St. Georges Cemetery, Kirkwood-St. Georges Road, St. Georges, DE.
