William K. Murphy, Sr.

Mr. William Keith Murphy, Sr., known fondly as “Bill” and “Murph,” age 55, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, on October 4, 1957, Mr. Murphy was the son of the late Patrick Murphy and Elva Annett Murphy. He made his career in the construction industry for many years. For the past six years, he was employed as the Director of Maintenance Management and Environmental Services for Arbors at New Castle.
A devoted family man throughout his life, Mr. Murphy’s happiest times were spent in the company of his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a wonderful host–his house was always full of friends–and he delighted especially in cooking delicious meals on the grill year around! He was also an avid Harley-Davidson motorcyclist for many years.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Connie S. Taylor Murphy; children, Charla Sharp, Kimmy Murphy, William Keith Murphy, Jr., and Lindsey Murphy (Nick Toller); siblings, Donald Annett, Eleanor Fitzgerald, Steven Murphy, Sherry Carter, Roxann Hall, Colleen Gardner (John), and Darlene Murphy; grandchildren, Tristan, Keithy, Madasyn, Nathan, and Caitlyn; mother- and father-in-law, Eleanor and Woodrow Taylor; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, June 3, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. The family asks that all those attending the funeral wear casual dress (no suits or ties, please).
