William N. “Bill” Dukes

William N. “Bill” Dukes, age 77, of Bear, DE, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025.

Born in Wilmington, DE on September 3, 1947, he was a son of the late Betty Jean (Melvin) Dukes. Bill was a graduate of Brown Vocational High School and proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home he made his career as an electrician at Delmarva Power for over 30 years until his retirement.

Bill often looked forward to vacations at the beach, especially fishing on the Indian River Bay. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his family.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Marleen Y. (Jackson) Dukes; son, Todd W. Dukes (Barbara) of Middletown; brother, Robert Dukes of Buckhannon, WV; and grandchildren, Taylor and Layla Dukes.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 E. Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 am. A committal service will follow in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
