William Parker Davis, Sr.

William Parker Davis Sr., a devoted family man, beloved husband, and cherished father, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, at the age of 85.
Born in Wilmington, DE on April 14, 1938, he was a son of the late Charles Henry Davis and Josephine Mae Taylor. William, or Bill as he was fondly known, dedicated 40 years of his life to Sears, where he served as an enthusiastic and successful salesman. In addition to his commitment to his professional life, he also proudly served in the National Guard for seven years.
Bill had a passion for the outdoors and cherished moments spent hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and feeding the squirrels that frequented in his backyard. A true sports enthusiast, he enjoyed watching games, particularly those of the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles, Flyers and Sixers.
Married for a remarkable 60 years to the love of his life, Barbara Davis, Bill was the anchor of a family that meant the world to him. He was a supportive brother to Frances, Bette, Erma, and Charles, and is survived by his brother Ed Davis (Dodie) and sister Shirely Davis.
Bill leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment to family. He is survived by his sons, Billy and Bob (Connie), and will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Bobby (Jessica), Chance, Alyssa, Elena, Cierra, and Kayla. His great-grandchildren, Bailey, Cooper, Carter, Miyana, and Tru, who will continue to feel his love and warmth in their hearts.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a celebration of life will begin at 2 pm. Let us gather to remember the incredible life of a man who touched the hearts of many.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s memory to Goodwill Fire House, 401 South Street, New Castle, DE 19720, Attn: Susan Moore.
