Willie Nelson Williams, age 64, of Bear, DE, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021.
Born in Chester, PA on February 5, 1957, he was a son of the late Alex and Christine (Bannerman) Williams. Willie acquired his education from the Chester, PA school district. Throughout his life, he worked for various companies, most recently Northwestern Human Services as a mental health supervisor. Willie was a faithful member of Christ the Cornerstone United Methodist Church, where he also shared his love of singing through the Praise Team. He had a passion for cooking, which lead him to become the former owner of Christine’s Kitchen. Willie held his family above all, and cherished time spent with them at meals and gatherings.
In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his brother, Cliffton Charles Williams. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Emma (Green) Williams; daughter, Tennille Lockley (Brandon); step-sons, Michael Myers (Rasheeda), Joseph Williams, Jr. and Charles Williams; goddaughter, Vaniesha Tilghman; siblings, Luther Williams (Cheryl), Core Louida Berry, Louella Williams, Robert Bruce Williams, Randy Williams, Debbie Williams and Marion Williams (Carlotta); grandchildren, Ciera, Brandon, Jr. and Nyla Lockley; step-grandchildren, Myanna Williams, LaKeria Williams, Sharia Chancey (Jabari), Joseph Williams III, Jahtae Williams, Tameyha Williams, and Keyanna Williams.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 am until 11 am on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Christ the Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 3135 Summit Bridge Road, Bear, DE 19701, followed by a funeral service at 11 am. Face masks will be required for all in attendance. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Willie’s memory to Christ the Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 3135 Summit Bridge Road, Bear, DE 19701.
