Woodrow W. “Woody” Chambers, Jr.

Woodrow W. “Woody” Chambers, Jr., age 78, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021, after a brief battle with cancer.

Woody was a member of the Teamsters Local 326 for 35 years, and worked at Custom Deliveries for 18 of those years. He enjoyed traveling, especially going on cruises, hunting and fishing. Woody took trips to New York and Canada to fish with his children; he cherished those times most. He was proud of his 1972 Buick that he took to car shows and won numerous awards for. Woody was also a huge fan of Elvis Presley. He will be sadly missed by his cousin, Joe Chambers and his walking buddy, Richard Nau, as well as many other cousins and friends.

Woody was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Elberta Chambers, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy; daughter, Traci Chambers Miller (Mike) of Danville, VA; son, Woodrow III of New Castle; and one grandson, Jeffrey McKenney, Jr. of Danville, VA.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. A funeral service will begin at 11 am on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, followed by interment in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North Dupont Highway, New Castle, DE. Face masks will be required for all in attendance.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Woody’s memory to Seasons Hospice, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713 or the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, c/o Christiana Care, P.O. Box 1668, Wilmington, DE 19899.
