Zachary Allen “Zach” McVey, age 26, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019.
Born in Newark, DE on January 26, 1993, he was the son of Robert Eugene McVey, Jr. and the late Bianca Marie Martin. Zach attended William Penn High School. He enjoyed watching all sports, especially basketball and football. Zach loved listening to music and being with his friends. He will always be remembered as a loving son and grandson, who was dearly loved by his grandmother, Stella.
In addition to his mother, Zach was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles Callanan; and grandmother, Sharon McVey. He is survived by his father, Robert (fiancée, Melissa Quillen); maternal grandmother, Stella Callanan; paternal grandfather, Robert E. McVey, Sr.; his best friend, Brandon; brother, Joshua Rickard; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 pm until 5 pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 5 pm. Interment will be held privately.
