As Owner and President, Matthew exemplifies Spicer-Mullikin’s commitment to families and community. He learned these traits from his father, Harvey C. Smith, Jr., and godfather, Frank Mayer, Jr., who co-owned Spicer-Mullikin for a half-century before Matthew took over in 2012. From an early age, Matthew saw the importance of compassionate care delivered at the highest standards of the funeral profession. Through Matthew’s leadership, Spicer-Mullikin became the first funeral home in Delaware to be inducted into the National Funeral Directors Association Hall of Excellence, among many other honors and awards that he and the entire team at Spicer-Mullikin are very proud to have received.
